Bingo for the Beginner

Bingo holds the distinction of being one of the oldest chance games of the world and dates back to over six hundred years ago. The game first saw prominence in various quarters of Italy, then moved on to France (where it was mainly played by the elite), and then moved on to Germany (where it was then used to help teach children).

The 19th century saw Europe grow accustomed to the game, and it travelled to the U.S in the 20th century. While Bingo continued to captivate the hearts of those looking at a making a quick buck, it also quickly spread as an effective way to raise funds by various charitable organizations, schools, and churches.

The most important factor that draws an increasing number of people to the game is the game’s simplicity. The rules of Bingo can be learnt very quickly, and the game can be played almost anywhere. What one would primarily need to play a game of Bingo apart from the players include the bingo cards, bingo markers, and the bingo cage for the numbered balls.

A usual bingo card has ‘24’ numbered spaces along with a free space. Every player then starts going through cards in the hunt for the ‘best’ numbers. However, you could also get specially marked cards that are also commonly available. These specially marked cards can be used for a variety of purposes including using these cards as pictorial learning aids for young children.

Either way, playing Bingo can be a great way to unwind and de-stress.

Bingo Etiquette

The game of Bingo is played by a number of people, and the primary factor for many of these people is the entertainment and relaxation that the game offers. It is therefore necessary for you, as a Bingo player, to follow certain etiquette, thereby ensuring that all fellow players have a nice time. Bingo etiquette does not just apply to Bingo halls, but to online Bingo games as well.

While you would mainly have to follow your common sense in what is acceptable behaviour and what is not, there are certain situations that call for special attention. For instance, if you are playing Bingo at a hall, make sure that you leave room for other players as well, and do not ‘block’ seats unless absolutely necessary. Also, do not take over seats that have things placed on them as this is a common way of holding seats.

Remain polite with people sitting close to you, and also identify whether they wish to engage in conversation or not. Having a conversation with someone who wishes to be left alone can be quite irritating. Moaning about your losses at a Bingo game is a definite no.

If you play online Bingo, make sure that you do not try and dominate chat room conversations. Besides moaning about losing, bragging about your wins does not come under acceptable behaviour either. Also make sure that the language you use in Bingo chat rooms is acceptable by all the fellow players.

Again, while there are no set rules of how you need to behave at a Bingo game, it does help to use your common sense.

Bingo at Your Workplace - Promoting Safety

The flexibility of Bingo has often seen it being used in a number of ways, and a number of offices are now using the game to promote work-place safety on an everyday basis. Not only can the game be used to encourage team-work, but can also be used to reward employees for following/enforcing safe practices.

In order to get started, all the employees would need to be given their respective Bingo cards in accordance to their specific profiles. An employee would need to use a copy of the same card for all the Bingo games. After the initially set prize, the prize can be raised continually as employees’ progress. If employees have accidents in between two games, the prize money can revert back to the original amount. A list should be made that contains the accidents that would qualify (which could include accidents that require medical attention or time-off) for the game, and every time an accident present on the list takes place, a new game begins and the prize can go back to the originally set amount.

This game is ideally played with personnel of the ‘human resources’ being the callers. For everyday that goes by accident free, a new number can be drawn. Every unit/employee can then either be notified through emails, or via the employee notice board. Employees that reach Bingo can then notify their immediate superiors about the same. In contrast to conventional Bingo, these games can go on for days.

After the winner is declared, copies of the cards can then be distributed again, and this starts a new game.

Nearly all of us have played Bingo at some point of our lives and this age old game has seen a fair amount of transformation since its inception. The initial growth of the game made way for ‘bingo halls’ that are still in vogue. These came into being when the game grew and there was a need for large venues to house the growing number of Bingo players.

Now that the World Wide Web has made a significant impact on various aspects of our lives, a large number of websites are in place where Bingo enthusiasts can indulge in their favourite pastimes from the comfort of their own homes. While online Bingo might not appeal to everyone in the beginning, once you start to play the game online, you would find it rather interesting.

With access to the internet, you would not have to wait for the weekly or otherwise scheduled Bingo games in your neighbourhood, and would not have to go through the pains of driving to other neighbourhoods for attending Bingo games. If you think that playing Bingo online would take away the fun of meeting new people, you should know that you would be prone to meeting more like minded people at online games because they generally cater to a larger audience (and you could end up meeting people from various corners of the globe).

While different Bingo players continue to prefer playing one form of Bingo over the other, there are a number of Bingo fans that love playing both. You could very well be one of them.

This centuries old game has seen a fair amount of changes over a period of time, and the stakes that are involved in Bingo games have also changed. The growing fascination with Bingo has led to a large number of Bingo Halls as well as online Bingo websites that offer some very big prizes.

A number of casinos the world over have also incorporated Bingo games within their operations, and many of these are often high stake games. Bingo is no longer the game that is played only as means to recreation, but is a game where the winnings can be immense. An increasing number of people playing Bingo are ending up winning substantially large cash jackpots, fancy electronic equipment, automobiles, etc.

The reason that Bingo is finding more takers than other games is because this game provides everybody with a fair chance of winning, since the game itself is a game of chance. Once the game starts, everybody is quite literally on the same platform. While people do follow a number of guides and tips, the game, at the end of it, is really left to chance. This is why big money Bingo finds so many takers.

With big money Bingo no longer being limited to the Bingo Hall, you can now opt to play big money Bingo on the internet. With there being scores of Bingo websites on the World Wide Web, you can find a website that offers big money games quite easily. Just make sure that the website is trustworthy, and start playing.
